The vagabond hurried over to the nearest tree. The girl was still there, arms flailing and struggling to stay afloat. He reached out for her but she can't reach him. She beckons him repeatedly to save her. His mid flirted with the idea to jump into the water, swords chopping up the tendrils that had ensnared her. Then he stopped.

When he withdrew himself, the girl struggled and reached for him. When he let out his hand, she looked as if she was backing off.
